Photography is a place where dream and reality interact, a place where light and shadow rule. Seizing the moment and preserving it gives me great pleasure. Travel and photography have become symbiotic obsessive compulsions which fuel my psyche.

These dual obsessions give me good reason to wander. I enjoy bad roads leading to places I can barely pronounce where I often meet people I will never forget. Places where magnificent ancient temples rise up out of the landscape and speak of distant more glorious eras of history. I feel the magnetic attraction to the back roads of Asia and Latin America. To be able to return alive after a six month journey with some decent photos is icing on the cake for me. Photography is my drug of choice, a sweet addiction.

Basically, I'm a thrill seeker who enjoys going to far away places where things move slowly. Places where humans have been living off the land since before the days of Genghis Khan. Occasionally when travelling by motorcycle, boat or cargo truck I've been able to reach remote places where people have never seen ice, never tasted ice cream. I'm attracted to places where people live much like they have for centuries. I try to enter into a calm state of mind, into the "eternal now" where the camera becomes an extension of my eye.
